WCCT Reopens Site for Volunteer Screenings

On April 13, 2020, WCCT resumed its clinical trial operations using three new testing procedures for COVID-19. WCCT will now screen for the presence of COVID-19 in clinical trial volunteers and staff which enables us to incrementally reopen our operations following a carefully monitored virus testing strategy.

What you can expect from WCCT:

  • You will be asked several questions about your health and possible exposure to anyone who is sick. We will also take your temperature when you enter the facility and conduct COVID-19 testing in which you will be asked to electronically consent to prior to being scheduled for an appointment.
  • We have minimized the frequency of screenings that we will be conducting at our facility to reduce the number of volunteers at our site at any given day.
  • For those who pass the screening visit and are eligible to participate in a study, we have taken steps to reduce the number of volunteers who are assigned to a room upon admission.
  • For the foreseeable future, we will have no special on-site accommodations, except during volunteers scheduled overnight stays (per the protocol).
  • The common areas in the unit may not be accessible or will be restricted in use.
  • There will be a special process for volunteer payment. We will not accommodate unannounced “walk-ins” to pick up checks.
  • If you are currently in a study or considering participating in a study and you are sick with a respiratory illness, please notify your study recruiter or coordinator before coming to the facility for your study visit. You might be given special instructions for your visit or asked to reschedule.

We have compiled this list of credible news sources, as well as tips for saying safe and healthy during this time:

We look forward to seeing you soon. Stay safe and healthy!
