California CRO Executive Takes 2nd Place

COSTA MESA, Calif., Jul 10. 2015/IReach-PRNewswire/–California CRO Executive, Jon Rojas, in addition to being named the new President of WCCT Global, was recently awarded second place in the category of Executive of the Year, in the annual Stevie Awards, for his contributions to the clinical research industry. Since his entrance to the company in 2008, Mr. Rojas served as WCCT Global’s Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the contract research organization’s Program Management, Global Clinical Development, Scientific Affairs, Business Development, and Patient Recruitment operations, among other departments. Additionally, Mr. Rojas was a finalist in the Stevie Awards International Executive of the Year and the SCRIP Awards Executive of the Year categories.

Over the past year, Mr. Rojas spearheaded a number of the California CRO’s initiatives, including WCCT Global’s recent expansion of laboratory services to include Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cell (PBMC) isolation techniques, and establishing a collaboration with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the Nolan Laboratory at the Stanford School of Medicine, in an effort to better characterize drug response to viral illness or immunological therapies. Furthermore, under Mr. Rojas’ leadership, the contract research organization established a partnership with Dynport Vaccine Company to support clinical trials evaluating anti-infective drugs, with an emphasis in Phase I studies.

Since June 2014, Mr. Rojas’ efforts have aided the company in surpassing revenue goals by 50%, allowing the California CRO to focus on the professional development of its employees by offering industry-related education and training, and promoting an up-to-date familiarity with the clinical research industry as a whole. All WCCT Global employees were given the opportunity to enroll in a certification program that would further their skills in clinical research.
